About Ankole Diocese
Ankole Diocese, part of the province of the Church of Uganda (C.O.U), covers the districts of Mbarara City, Mbarara, Isingiro, and Rwampala in the southwestern region of Uganda. The diocesan headquarters are situated in Ruharo, located 3 kilometers from Mbarara town on the Mbarara-Bushenyi highway. The history of Ankole Diocese dates back to 1957 when it was established, and it officially registered under the Church of Uganda in February 1968.
